Rijeka Gateway decided to name the cranes after extraordinary women from Rijeka and Primorje

Zagreb, July 03, 2024 - The Rijeka Gateway terminal is set to receive four impressive cranes that will not only enable the transfer of cargo from the largest ships but also contribute to the city's vision for Rijeka's future.

With the aim of becoming new symbols of inspiration and pride, Rijeka Gateway has decided to name the cranes after extraordinary women from Rijeka and Primorje, who have left an indelible mark with their actions, and have not yet received the well-deserved recognition through the naming of one of the streets or squares. Nine women from Rijeka's history have been selected and people are invited to vote through their Facebook page.

The new cranes will be named after the women who receive the most "likes", while the terminal area will be permanently marked as the "Square of Strong Women of the City of Rijeka" – a place that is an inseparable part of Rijeka's urban center and celebrates the values of this city.

Voting is open until July 14, 2024, and all information can be found on the Rijeka Gateway terminal's Facebook page.

Rijeka Gateway is a container terminal project being developed by ENNA LOGIC in collaboration with the Dutch partner APM Terminals (a member of the Danish Maersk Group). This is the largest investment in the history of the Rijeka port. The construction of the terminal is underway, and it is expected to start operations in 2025.
